Tern Island within French Frigate Shoals atoll is about 600 miles northwest of Honolulu. Therefore, we are remote!
As a result, our Internet connection is unpredictable. Sometimes it won't work at all; at other times it's very sloooooow. Nonetheless, we're sticking with the effort to maintain this blog, and keep you in touch with the incredible life of this special place.
But if the blog's formatting is kinda strange, or we aren't able to answer your comments right away, please understand. It's not that we don't want to stay in touch...but it just might be we've thrown the whole tech system...

Tern Island is located within French Frigate Shoals, part of the Hawaiian Islands National Wildlife Refuge, Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument, Hawaiʻi. French Frigate Shoals is home to many thousands of birds (albatross, boobies, terns, and more), Hawaiian monk seals, Hawaiian green sea turtles, and a few humans. Join us for adventures on a remote island.
